I am a bit of a shutterbug. Okay, I'm a full on photo fanatic when I travel! I want to capture every colourful location or every moving moment I see. Many get deleted but there are others that stand out. When I look at them, they take me right back to the time and place that I clicked the button on my camera. They are my Snazzy Snaps. Not perfect, but special and here is where I'm going to display them for you. You must have some of those kinds of travel photos too? Send me a shot and I'll post it here with your name, of course. I'd love to see the places you've been roving around! tnroverjane@gmail.com

Easter Penance in Ecuador
A Good Friday procession through the streets of the old city in Quito, Ecuador is called Jésus de Gran Poder. Believers purge their sins publicly by inflicting pain on themselves with chains, whips, cactus crosses, and by carrying heavy wooden crucifixes. An incredible display of courage and faith.

Building Basques History
There's a 16th century Basques whaling galleon under construction in the Basques country. I had the pleasure of seeing the building of the replica first hand. The "San Juan" and its crew were in search of whales back in the mid 1500s when the vessel met its end in the harbour in Red Bay, Labrador. For more on this fascinating story of Canada's maritime heritage and a video of the San Juan replica project, read my blog post Building Basques History.
Bimini, Bahamas
I took this set of photos on a trip to Bimini, Bahamas. This special little island was surrounded by the prettiest blue ocean I've ever seen. Find out more about Bimini in my blog post: True Blue

Malagash, Nova Scotia
Malagash, Nova Scotia is home to Jost Vineyards. For 30 years, vines there have been producing grapes that make some of the province's tastiest wines. And the green scene in the vineyard, well, it'll leave you feeling as chilled as a bottle of your favourite chardonnay. Pour yourself a glass and read my blog post here: Under A Malagash Sun

NYC - September 11th, 2010
Nine years after the terrorist attacks in New York City, residents were still coming to grips with their pain. I was there for that anniversary.
I remember, as we all do, where I was the day it happened in 2001. The news was devastating but I was encouraged by the generosity I witnessed around me The tragedy brought out the best in many of my fellow Newfoundlanders. Read my blog post here: More Of The Good

Live to Fish. Fish to Live.
In early September, I was on board a shrimp fishing long liner off the coast of Newfoundland. We fished for 5 days and I came away with a new understanding of the fishery and a new appreciation for the challenging work fishermen do on the ocean. Come on board and read my blog post here: Live to Fish. Fish to Live.
